I am a coffee and tea drinker. Usually one or two cups to get my engine going first thing in the morning....o.k and a few other systems as well but I won't go there.
Today I am exhausted. 5 month old+stuffed nosed= no sleep for either of us. I would nap all day but the other two kids would just keep poking me.
So...I've had a few coffees. O.K 5 or 6, and yes I've gone pee alot.
I am still tired...awake, but still tired.
I wonder if I drink more coffee if my body will just go on overload, come full circle and I will fall asleep in my soup. Hmmmmmm.
I manage a country homestead and the lives of my 4 babies ages 10,8,5 and 3. I LOVE TO RUN and NEED to keep healthy and fit for my SANITY!! Seriously....All problems are solved when I am running.
Making MY health a priority allows me to be the mother and wife that I need to be for them.

getting it over with
I made yummy brownies. They are fudgy and delicious.
I cut heart shapes out and places the left over pieces in a dish in the fridge...
The heart shapes are gone and given away...all is left are the pieces....
I keep grabbing little bits and popping them in my mouth...
Now these are REALLY fudgy and fattening and FULL of sugar...
So the best thing to do is....
Eat the entire bowl and get it over with no?
That way I don't eat so much sugar EVERYDAY!!??

So I just got it over with and ate the entire bowl....

Just Do it!!
I've been doing well with my running again. I have been making it out 3 times a week. Last week however I booked my mom...took the kids over, and chose to have a coffee instead. I just did not feel like running....
Bad idea...it makes the next time so much easier to find excuses to NOT GO!!
It is so important to stick to the small goals if the larger ones are going to be met at some point. I need to remind myself that I will never run that marathon if I can't make it out the door 3x a week.
Self motivation = Focusing on my goals + Just doing it!!
I'm always better off for it.

Rest

A run down memory lane
Why is it that people are o.k to point out how 'skinny' someone is?? and not in a nice way? I may be slender but my feelings are hurt when you look at me with disdain.
Don't hate me or judge me please. If you would like tips or want to know how I lost the weight than I would be more than happy to tell you. Just remember that skinny chicks still don't always look good naked. We all have our issues.
Support me...don't judge me....please
That being said...I went for a run today in my old city. I dropped my kids off with my former babysitter turned friend and ran my old route. It felt a little weird but it was fun. I ran slower than I remembered running it in the past but that does not matter.... It was fun looking at all the parks and streets and remembering all the fond memories I have of living there. It was a great trip down memory lane.

Head Games
For those of you who think that running comes easy to me and that I just glide along like a beautiful Gazzelle on my 30min stress relief runs here is a little reality check for y'a.
Like I've said before...If I can do this...so can you :)
This is the conversation I had with myself for 30mins....enjoy
"It's raining...I don't wanna go for a run, but out the door I go. Why oh why did I book grandma to come over?"
"O.K I'll just go for 15mins...maybe 10mins out and turn around"
"Hmmmm...this is boring. I really don't want to do this. I'm tired."
" o.K I don't have my mp3 player so I'll make it interesting and run for 1min hard and slow for the next min. and alternate(part of the intermediate running program)."
"This isn't so bad but now I'm sweating....I don't wanna keep going"
"I can do anything for 1minute!! just keep going!!"
" Hmmm if I run too fast I'll have furthur to go once I turn around. Maybe I'll slow down a bit so I don't go too far."
" O.K now I'm feeling the rhythm a little but I don't want to do these intervals...I don't feel like breathing hard"
" I'll just run at a good pace for 15 minutes"
" Oh man..It's only been 7 minutes? hrmph"
" I'll stop looking at my watch and run to the school house..then I'll turn around"
" School house already? I only have 3 minutes left till 15 minutes...I might as well keep going till then."
" 15 already? that wasn't so bad. I guess it is time to turn around"

An Encounter
I was in the grocery store today. Peyton was strapped to me, Erin was in the cart and Lara was hanging off of it.
A 20 something man came up to me, smiled and said "wow...3 kids. Are they yours?"
I smiled back and said " Why yes they are...can you tell by the bags under my eyes?"
He laughed a little and said "no, actually I was just going to say that you look so young to have 3 kids. In fact you look amazing. You are beautiful and so energetic. Your husband is such a lucky man."
I blushed, and said Thank you...yes he is pretty lucky...and I carried on my shopping feeling pretty good.
o.k so that never happened....it is my blog and I can write what I want. Would be nice though ;)

Takes Two To ''Tango''
Thanksgiving here has come and gone and I've made alot from scratch. Wow there is alot of sugar and fat in things!! so good....but wow.
I think I'm going to continue this baking from scratch thing so I stop eating so much! I have to admit that it is difficult to eat large quantities of something I know contains so much fat and sugar!!
I have yet to go for another run. Life is getting in the way and I don't like using my in-laws all the time just so I can run. I'm tired of asking.
My husband is still in police training and comes home on the weekends looking better and better each time!! He is running, swimming ect. Even his confidence is improving. It is hard for me not to be running when he looks so good. We are a marriage and it takes two to Tango if you catch my drift. I need to find self confidence in that area and running gives it to me.
So...I will run for my husband this week....so we can Tango ;)

I run to GAIN energy!
I went for a run tonight. My first run in 3 weeks. phwew!! I needed it.
Thank you Bess for inspiring me today ;)
I have to say. Now I am refreshed and the stress is gone.
I'll tell y'a though....being by myself with three little ones, having a huge old farm house to look after, not to mention the chickens...the LAST thing I wanted to do was to get out the door.
I nursed Peyton to sleep at 6pm and I almost fell asleep myself!!!
but 2 minutes into it, somehow I found the energy...and now I have more than what I started with..and I'll sleep well.
THAT FOLKS...IS ANOTHER REASON WHY I RUN.

Four months post partum
This is the long awaited picture of me in my goal Jeans. They fit....and fit well. I can even breathe if I put them on right out of the dryer.
It took me about 3 months to fit into all my clothes. The running and breast feeding helped. I still have 4 pounds or so to go to reach post pregnancy weight but woopty dooda.
I just need to get running again for energy, stress relief and nice skin :)

Soup made from real chicken stock after I've cook a chicken,
Multi Vitamins
Shakes with Green Plus in them,
Pure Orange juice non-diluted.
For myself I also take echinecea three times a day.
If we are coming down with a head cold I also add a drop or two of peroxide in our ears and allow it to kill the bug.
WE RARELY GET A FULL FLEDGE FLU/COLD....

eating naturally
I've always tried to eat right...but since moving to the country I have taken it to another level.
I have tried to eat more naturally. I've become interested in just what is in my food and where it comes from.
I am shocked and disgusted with what we put into our bodies on a daily basis and don't give it a second thought.
Since changing my diet, baking more, eating more raw foods and eliminating most preservatives from mine and my childrens diets, I have noticed a huge difference...
A difference in energy, temperment and sleep.
It is not difficult or expensive to change your diet....but it does take a ton of motivation and determination....o.k self control.
It was hard to get rid of Kraft Diner and store bought cookies...but worth it in the end.....so worth it.
