I manage a country homestead and the lives of my 4 babies ages 10,8,5 and 3. I LOVE TO RUN and NEED to keep healthy and fit for my SANITY!! Seriously....All problems are solved when I am running.

Making MY health a priority allows me to be the mother and wife that I need to be for them.

Enough Already

I am tired of being tired. I no longer wish to wake up and 'need' my coffee. I've made huge changes over the past year but now it is time to make more.

I am 'hungry' enough for change. I am in my thirties and I want to maximize the energy and youth I have left. There is just no excuse any more. Life here is short and I am no longer willing to sacrifice my body mind and soul for brief moments 'pleasure'.

I am giving up and alcohol. I'm doing it for several reasons but to be completely honest it is just not worth it anymore.

I know I need to give up my morning coffee as it as well does nothing for me. The excuse that it makes me a 'happy' mommy is only because I'm ADDICTED to it and without it I am cranky. That is just not how I want to live my life anymore. That is not who I want to be.

Step 1) Start to make changes. I can never focus on NOT doing something. Instead I focus on what I should DO.

Step 2) Drink the most disgusting Green Shake EVER created, wonder what I was thinking and THEN add the apple I forgot.

Step 3)Taste parsley in my mouth all day.

Step 4) Poop like I've never pooped before.... Thanks A LOT SHAN!!!

Were you caffeine deprived or drinking alcohol when you wrote that blog?! LOL, sorry couldn't resist ;) I know all about giving things up, esp. things you love. It's hard but it's far more mental than physical (after you go through the withdrawl). You can do this. You are strong-willed and can do anything you set your mind to. I've been alcohol-free for almost 2 years and didn't have caffeine (or any beverage other than water) for 4 months last year and now just drink tea for the taste/comfort, not the caffeine. Good luck!

I just posted another green smoothie video that I liked a LOT. I also liked Shan's, but I changed it up and really enjoyed the taste- not just the health effects. :)

this has been one the most crazy, terrible 6 weeks for us and i have done nothing but eat chips and drink coconut rum!! not necessarily the best strategy for stress!!

Good for you for taking some steps to feel better.
