I manage a country homestead and the lives of my 4 babies ages 10,8,5 and 3. I LOVE TO RUN and NEED to keep healthy and fit for my SANITY!! Seriously....All problems are solved when I am running.

Making MY health a priority allows me to be the mother and wife that I need to be for them.

Goals for Motivation

Went for my first run yesterday since becoming so ill. It felt great!!
My fabulous running partner came with me. We ran 12 minutes and walked 2 minutes, then ran another 12 minutes home.
My lungs felt great and I could have kept going.

It is important for me to start slow again. This way I end the run with a positive feeling. This will increase my chances of wanting to go again :)

Cheryl and I have also set a goal. We are going to do a 5km local run in September. We know we can do that and it will be a great motivator to keep going.

We are also going to try for a 10km run in the spring. This will help keep us motivated over the winter. Once that is accomplished it will be half/full marathon training time.

So set goals for yourself to stay motivated!!
These are mine...

1)Imediate goals.... A goal of getting out the door twice a week
2)Short Term Goals....a local run/walk in a few months
3)Long Term Goals....a goal of a marathon or something in a year or two.

hello, my name is Amie. I'm old friends with Erin Sauve. She told me to check out your site. I've enjoyed reading it. I wish I could have been more educated about my body whe I had my two kids. 2 years later I'm finally figuring it out and losing the weight. I wish I had known that exercise would have made me feel better, but since I had never done exercise before in my life I had no idea. Anyways, long story short, I appreciate hearing your tips and personal struggles and victories. All the best as you train. I've just recently started to jog. I have been walking long distance for a long time, but thought jogging would give a new challenge. I've been surprised by my body and what it can do. I'm probably pushing myself too much, but I find my body and I usually figure these things out eventually.
