I manage a country homestead and the lives of my 4 babies ages 10,8,5 and 3. I LOVE TO RUN and NEED to keep healthy and fit for my SANITY!! Seriously....All problems are solved when I am running.

Making MY health a priority allows me to be the mother and wife that I need to be for them.

Interview and Caffeine Free!!

On another note....

I'm Day 2 of being COFFEE FREE!! I didn't think I could do it. I like my morning coffee and I was dreading the 4 day coffee withdrawal symptoms. I wanted to cut out the addiction as I prepare to train for the Half Marathon. I need to optimize my nutrition and limit dehydration. Getting off coffee will also stabilize my moods. Saying that coffee makes me nicer is just the addiction talking. I would be much nicer and less grumpy if I did not crave caffeine in the first place.

So far however I have yet to experience a headache. I'm a little more tired than usual in the afternoon but that will change in a few days.

Every morning I wake up and have hot water and lemon as the lemon helps to stimulate my digestive tract. Then I continue with my Good AM greens Shake as described on Shan larter's website.
At first drinking parsley,celery and lettuce made me gag, but after adding more lemon, ginger root and water I LOVE IT!!

You know, I made a green smoothie every day I was at my in-laws and they looked at me like I was totally CRAZY. Truth is though, they see it as something to be endured, whereas I actually LOVE it. I crave it! Good stuff though for going caffeine free. The smoothie definitely takes the edge off and gives energy though. :)
