I manage a country homestead and the lives of my 4 babies ages 10,8,5 and 3. I LOVE TO RUN and NEED to keep healthy and fit for my SANITY!! Seriously....All problems are solved when I am running.

Making MY health a priority allows me to be the mother and wife that I need to be for them.

Real Food ALL the Time

This is a typical supper I make the children when I don't feel like cooking. But up fruit,sprinkle of granola and some NATURAL full fat Yogurt. On the side they had a shake of milk blended with frozen strawberries. I also added protein powder to the shake and have to admit that after watching a certain video I will NEVER EAT PROTEIN POWDER AGAIN.....I'll explain later..

I don't post much about my nutrition habits here but OBVIOUSLY a HUGE part of being a fit mom and back into my size 4 jeans after 8months postpartum is the WHAT/WHEN/WHY of what I eat.

Now I have pretty good nutritional knowledge, BUT I have to admit something. I am LEARNING A LOT MORE about my food and what I have been thinking is good for me and I'm finding out that I have been wrong in some areas.

That is all about to change.

Let me first tell you the NUMBER ONE rule I have in my DIET. (one that I need to adhere to more often)

1) Eat REAL FOOD. The further from the factory the better. It is scientifically proven that we humans just don't do a better job that God at creating food for us. In fact we are becoming SICKER because we have forgotten this basic rule.

This rule is harder to follow than you think. REALLY HARD this day in age.

Where to start?

First of all, please go to the store and rent the movie FOOD INC. Like right now. Go rent it.
Then watch stuff like the Story of Bottled Water, Walmart Nation, Fast Food Nation, Super Size Me. Seriously, you will start to change your outlook on life.

Then start to become better informed about how to change.

My friend Kirsten has a great nutrition blog she started. Healthy Food,Healthy Mind, Healthy Me. She is working hard to eat well and her dietary insight has taught me a few things. She researching and learning and she explains all her findings.

Next you can either start reading a million books based on scientific fact, OR you can go to YouTube RIGHT NOW and search Underground Wellness. Start with his video on Is God Stupid? Click on and LISTEN to every single piece of advice the guy has to say. You will learn A LOT and you will NEVER BE THE SAME.
