I manage a country homestead and the lives of my 4 babies ages 10,8,5 and 3. I LOVE TO RUN and NEED to keep healthy and fit for my SANITY!! Seriously....All problems are solved when I am running.

Making MY health a priority allows me to be the mother and wife that I need to be for them.

Went for a run tonight. It was nice. I ACTUALLY WANTED TO GO!!! That is a change. I think I am going to HAVE to change to a half Marathon for sure.

I know come the time I'll be dissapointed but who am I kidding at this point. I'll be lucky to finish that! To be completely honest I don't really care. I will complete a marathon someday...just not this year so I'm not all that upset. I just don't feel like running much right now. perhaps I'll have to think about scheduling a run where I train in the cooler weather.
Trying to find the motivation to run in the heat is just painful and not working.
So whatever....on to something else.

I actually feel worse for my 4 readers. I'm sorry I'm letting you down. I'm not as inspiring as I was a year ago. Sorry about that.

Am I one of the 4 readers? If so, on behalf of the other 3 I'd like to tell you not to be so hard on yourself. You still inspire me to be a better runner (and see how I'd look in a running skirt) and it's refreshing to hear someone speak so honestly about losing motivation and taking care of an injury. Take your race training one day/week at a time and just continue to listen to your body. Take good care of yourself and remember: Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

Are you kidding??? I read about you running, whether it be a full marathon or a half, and I feel like I want to go out for a run right now (9 months pregnant). I am pretty much running vicariously through you until this child pops out and I can resume running, so really, THANK YOU! And do not doubt your ability or think that a half-marathon is a weaker choice...both rank right up there and are just as challenging, so go for it! :o)
