I manage a country homestead and the lives of my 4 babies ages 10,8,5 and 3. I LOVE TO RUN and NEED to keep healthy and fit for my SANITY!! Seriously....All problems are solved when I am running.

Making MY health a priority allows me to be the mother and wife that I need to be for them.

Sara,Erin,Cathy,Bess,Cheryl.....my five devoted readers, or at least commenters ;)

I am not doing the Marathon anymore. I hurt after one run (my knee) and I am just not ready.
I do promise to keep running at least once/twice a week so I can eat as much chocolate and cream cheese as I want.
I also promise to keep remembering that I am worth it. I'm worth staying in shape and worth staying fit.

I have not given up....only reconized the truth.
That I am not going to run a Marathon this year. Someday.....but not this year. and I'm OK with that!!! really I am.

Maybe the Half Marathon...but whatever. It is not the goal but the Journey to the goal right??

Oh, that is so sad. But yes, you must take care of you first. And like you have said before, the goal will always be there for you. Enjoy the process, and who knows what other marvelous things could happen between today and in the future.

Keep blogging here, because I really enjoy your blog Alyson! You are so fresh and happy. You keep it real.

Love that!

Take care!

I'm excited to read through your blog! Count me in as a visitor!!

Good luck on your recovery and you'll be up and ready in no time - kickin' dust! :)

You are stronger and wiser for making that decision! And you are ABSOLUTELY right...it's the journey that counts. Enjoy every run for what they are, and continue on with what's important: your family and your love for the Lord. :)
