I manage a country homestead and the lives of my 4 babies ages 10,8,5 and 3. I LOVE TO RUN and NEED to keep healthy and fit for my SANITY!! Seriously....All problems are solved when I am running.

Making MY health a priority allows me to be the mother and wife that I need to be for them.

Getting back on the Horse....so to speak

I am finally over whatever 'sickness' I've had. I still need the results from the Dr. but at least now I am keeping food in, and I have not had any more mysterious fevers.

Peyton is sleeping through the night for the first time in his 11 months. I think THAT is the biggest factor. Well, perhaps combined with the fact that he is now no longer breastfeeding. I admit that I am emotional about that, but I needed to 'nurse' myself back to health. right now I need all the nutrients I can get so I can start to re-gain some of this weight loss.

I have been making a VERY conscious effort to add more fruits and veggies to EVERYTHING. This way I can get my stores back up to par.

I've done some research about FOOD PAIRING. For eg. Adding lemon to Green Tea helps to increase my absorption of the good stuff. (technical I know). Also, combining white beans with grilled chicken and tomato sauce in my spaghetti gives me the complete B vitamins. How wonderful.

AND.....DRUM ROLL PLEASE.

I am going to start running again. 3 weeks off is way way WAY too long of a hiatus.
I've already ran on the treadmill at the YMCA and didn't fall over, so we are good to go! I'm getting back on the horse so to speak.

Yay.

Still Here

If you have been wondering where I have been. Well...I'm still here. I just have not felt like posting. In fact, I've been incredibly ill.

I certainly don't feel like a 'Fit Mom' right now.

I have had 4 serious fevers since Jan. and I've lost so much weight that I constantly get comments. Concerned comments.

So...I took 2.5 weeks off any kind of fitness training, have gone to the Dr. For a TON of tests (which I'm still waiting for results for), and I've decided to start weaning my 10month old.

I'm not too happy about it, BUT at this point I need all the nutrients and energy I can get.

So...I've stopped feeding him during the day, and will only nurse him IF he wakes in the night.

My hormones are going crazy, but I'm actually looking forward to getting better.

I return to the gym tomorrow for some Yoga. I figure that will be a good start.

Till then....

Under the Weather

Sorry I've been lacking in posts. I've been under the weather for the past week and so I'm ONCE AGAIN concentrating on sleeping.

In fact....Until my baby sleeps through the night I think mose of my 'fitness' will have to do with sleep.

I'm just not getting enough, and it is taking a toll on my body.

Once the weather and this cold clears I'll be back at it I promise.

Old Lady Legs

Went for a 10km run today. I felt like an old lady. An achy, sore, old lady.

I made it though.

I've decided to stay with the 10km mark until I begin the intensive 18 week Marathon training.

The 18 week countdown to the Marathon is the beginning of June.

So...I will work on cross training and building core strength till then. And of COURSE getting in at least one or two runs a week.
