I manage a country homestead and the lives of my 4 babies ages 10,8,5 and 3. I LOVE TO RUN and NEED to keep healthy and fit for my SANITY!! Seriously....All problems are solved when I am running.

Making MY health a priority allows me to be the mother and wife that I need to be for them.

Feeling Better...

I'm happy to announce that my 29kms went much better than I expected. I think it has something to do with the arrival of my period. Oh hormones...why must you affect us all so?   My mood has also improved. Go figure.

I'll just enjoy the ride of happiness this week. I won't expect it to last, but I won't expect it to go away either. I am still going to get my cortisol levels checked for fun. I just like knowing what is going on with me. It is the Kinesiologist in me.

I am still taking the week off. I took Monday and Tuesday off after my long run. Today I will run 5km, and the same tomorrow.  I'll see how I feel Saturday, and then Sunday I am aiming for 32 kms.

I need not to become complacent with my diet though. I find when I'm feeling good I let myself slide back into bad habits. A little more chocolate here and there, an extra coffee, and an extra snack at night. Kind of sad that I need a 'bad week' to remind myself to eat well.  Silly on my part, but that is just me.

There is exactly 40 days to go before I run a Half Marathon race. I have to LAUGH that this 'race' is just a training run!!! Last year it was my Goal. This year it is just another run.  My goal is to run it at my Marathon goal pace. I'm confident I can do it. I SHOULD be the motivation I need to continue working hard with my training.

That's it for now.....

Happy Running,
Alyson

You think we would know by now......I mean really know how great our period impacts us...so sad for the "too much information" but I mine just came as well, and suddenly, all is right with the world. Hormones are crazy making-I have had every test imaginable and really, the end conclusion is what we already know-hormones are crazy making!!!!

You're well ahead of my other Ottawa marathon training friend ... she ran 26k on Sunday. Race weekend is fast approaching, so exciting!
